Emily had her 15 month well visit this morning. She currently weighs 22 lbs. 7 oz. (25-50%) and is 31 inches tall (75%). Her head circumference is now in the 50th percentile (down from the 90th on our last visit!) at 18 inches. I guess her body is finally catching up to head! After having all the usual stats taken, Emily had to hang out in the room with just her bare necessities (her diaper and a bow) while waiting for the doctor. She loved being able to run around the room without her clothes on. This is a luxury that she does not get very often. Anyway, Dr. Nix finally came in and said she was very well proportioned and growing nicely. He mentioned that she was behind in her teeth and speech development. Emily only has 4 teeth and is not really saying any words yet. Even though she is behind in these two areas, he was only mildly concerned about the talking and wants to see her again at 18 months to see how she has progressed. I am convinced, however, that she is just going to wait to speak until she can talk in sentences. :) After the doctor left, we had to wait for the nurse to come back in and give Emily 3 shots. She was NOT happy about this part of her visit. Her cries broke my heart and I cuddled her a few minutes before making her get dressed to leave. My exhausted little girl slept the entire way home, got up for a quick lunch, then slept again until 7:30 p.m.! It was a long morning, and we are both glad it is over! Here are some pictures of Miss Emmy in her 'bare necessities'!
