Our Little Bumble Bee

Today we had our 12 week ultrasound and doctor visit. Let's just say this is DEFINITELY Jon's baby! This little bumble bee was all over the place - turning and flipping, kicking and punching...basically putting on a show for us. Emily was never that active in her ultrasounds so I have a feeling that Jon Jr. is about to be born! From the stories I have heard from the Lloyd's, Jon was a handful! It was so cute watching our little miracle move and dance about. According to the Ultrasound Tech, everything looks perfect. We also had to say goodbye to Dr. McGuirk today. He is moving to Dallas to be closer to his family and we are going to miss him. I am going to try out his replacement, but may look for another doctor to deliver this one. Ok...back to our update. Here are pictures from today's ultrasound. It still amazes me to think that this tiny person is rapidly growing inside of me.

Milestone Morning

Last night Emily slept through the night without a swaddle!!!!! This is HUGE for her! I put her in her crib around 8:30 and she tossed and turned until about 10:30 when she finally gave up and went to sleep. The sleeping beauty did not wake up again until 7:45 this morning! Then my big girl fed herself an entire bottle! What a day! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of our little Emily Renee!!!!!!

Stealing CC's Water

CC, the grandma formerly known as Memaw, treated Emmy and me to dinner tonight at Pappasito's. During dinner, Emily kept grabbing CC's water and trying to drink it. My little angel was so cute and she kept us in stitches all evening long. Here are some pictures of my very thirsty baby! :)

Thank you for sharing your water with me, CC! I love you!

Daddy's Little Aggie

Emily wore her first Aggie cheerleader outfit today and Daddy called her his "Little Aggie". We would never push her to attend one college over another, but doesn't she look fabulous in maroon and white?!?

Splish Splashing in the Pool

Emily went swimming for the first time on Sunday at Aunt Sandy's house. She LOVED playing in the water with Cappy, Daddy, Mommy, Aunt Cheryl and Aunt Sandy. We swam for a little over an hour and she probably could have kept going, had we let her. When it came time for a bottle, Emmy even had Aunt Cheryl feed her in the pool! We had a great evening with our family and can't wait for another get together.

Emily loves her Cappy.

Aunt Kelli's Baby Shower

On Saturday we went to Kelli's first baby shower for Abigail Mae. Mimi, Aunt Cheryl, and Aunt Sandy threw her an absolutely beautiful shower at Brio's in the Woodlands. Abi was given many wonderful gifts including a diaper bag (from us), stroller, car seat, diaper genie, clothes, bows and more clothes! Emily wore a cute sailor dress and sported her new hair style...a "Pebbles Ponytail" on top of her head. Here are a couple of pictures from the shower.

Happy 1st Father's Day, Daddy!

Today we decided to do something totally out of the ordinary in honor of Father's Day. We loaded up the car and went to Stewart Beach in Galveston with Cappy and Aunt Kelli. I never imagined how difficult it would be to get Emily ready to just splash in the ocean! Between all of the diaper changes, sun screen applications, naps, sand...it was definitely an experience - but one we all enjoyed. Although Emily was not feeling very well (she has been a little under the weather and her right eye was bothering her a little), she loved being in the water for the first time. After we left the beach, we headed to a restaurant called The Spot to grab a late lunch. Emily was wiped out and slept through that part! Here are a few pictures from today.

** Note- Please disregard the white appearance of mommy's skin...it must have been a bad flash! lol (or something.......)

Happy Birthday, Jackson!

Yesterday one of Emily's best friends (and pretend brother) had a birthday! Jackson turned 9 years old and we helped him celebrate at the restaurant of his choice, Chili's. Emily wore her new turtle outfit and was on her best behavior during dinner. Happy birthday, Jackson!

Emily, meet your cousins!

Last week we were surprised by a visit from our cousins that live in Oklahoma. Emily was finally able to meet Sarah, Cody, Danielle and Aunt Tammy! We really enjoyed our time with them, even though it was short. Thank you for coming down! We love you!!!

Our big news...

On Mother's Day, we were given a HUGE surprise. We found out that I am pregnant again. Yes, you read that right...Emily is going to be a big sister. We knew this baby was a huge miracle since Emily was the result of 7 rounds of infertility treatments and this baby was concieved on our own...after one time! I would be lying if I said that I was instantly excited. The truth is, I was scared and upset. I cried for a couple of weeks worrying about all of the 'what ifs'. The first ultrasound helped me see the reality of our situation and I am finally coming around to the idea of being a mother of 2. Since Emily is only 5 months old (as of yesterday), I am showing BIG TIME already so I decided it was time to come out with our news.

So I guess you are now wondering about the details. Well, Emily was born on January 6th, 3 weeks early. This baby is due January 13th. I am fully expecting that this child will be at Emily's 1st birthday. I am about 8 weeks right now and the doctor said this is showing to be a strong pregnancy. The baby's heartbeat was 143 bpm at our last appointment.

Please pray for my health during this pregnancy. Emily was born early due to my high blood pressure and development of preeclampsia. I was never on medication, but bed rest was apart of my last pregnancy. This time around, I am already on blood pressure medication and worry about the possibility of bed rest...which would be impossible with Emily.

Caught ya!

Emily is getting so big, so fast and her cute little personality is really starting to come out. She is definitely a little stubborn (like her daddy) and this comes out in things like holding her head up. She has known how to hold her head up for a while but did not like to do it if we were "watching" or if she was on the floor. Needless to say, this made getting pictures of Emmy's 'trick' rather difficult. This week, Aunt Jennifer was finally able to capture some pictures for us. (Thank you Aunt Jennifer!!!) Here are some of the pictures of Emily holding her head up like a big girl. Isn't she adorable?!? :)
