A Super Sunday

After a Saturday that was jam packed of family activities (see the We Love Fall post), we decided to spend our Sunday in a similar fashion going to 2 Gymboree classes and the Zoo Boo with Chris, Kim and Hailey. Since it was Sunday, Emily's regular gym was closed so we headed down to the Galleria location. We love making up classes at this location because we get to do our class with Mrs. Rita, Emily's first Gymboree teacher - and our favorite teacher! The girls did really well at Gymboree and will be moving up to the level 5 classes which use a lot more structure, imagination, and requires them to listen and follow directions. This is a huge change from level 4 which allowed them to roam around the gym and do whatever activities they wanted. Here are some pictures of Emily and Hailey during their Gymboree classes dancing with their daddy, sorting "pumpkin seeds", jumping off "hay bales", and shaking pumpkins in the parachute.
We had 2 very tired girls on our hands after Gymboree so we all went home for lunch and naps. Around 3:30 we met back up to attend the Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo. This was our first time at this zoo so it was good to have Chris, Kim and Hailey with us (they are zoo members and go all the time!). It was so much fun to see all 3 cousins in the wagon together 'talking' about all the animals they saw. Emily really loved the aquariums and elephants while Aiden just loved being held.

We had the best weekend hanging out with our family. It is so great that our cousins live so close and can grow up together hanging out and making lifelong memories.

We love fall!!!

The weather has been absolutely BEAUTIFUL lately and we have been enjoying every minute of it with our family and friends! We have visited 2 pumpkin patches, a fall festival, gone to a birthday party and spent a lot of time at the parks and out in the yard. Emily is in heaven, as she LOVES being outdoors.
Last weekend we went to our 2nd pumpkin patch, but this one was an exotic pumpkin patch that raised kangaroos, camels, horses, and other animals. The kids enjoyed a hay ride, roasting hot dogs over a campfire and picking out pumpkins to bring home. The goal is to carve them...but that has not happened yet.
This weekend has started out with a very busy schedule of attending a birthday party, a craft show and a Fall Festival...and that was all just today! Emily's friend, Bella, turned 2 so we went to her very fun ladybug themed party. She had 2 cakes that were both shaped like huge ladybugs and a bounce house with a ball pit in the back yard. The kids had a blast!!! After the party we headed straight to the Fall Festival where we were meeting Hailey (a cousin on the Lloyd's side), Lindsey and Ashlyn (their friends). Here, there were even MORE bounce houses, cotton candy, snow cones, craft projects.........let's just say we successfully tired them out! Tomorrow we are thinking about going to Zoo Boo and Gymboree. Rest up kids, because we are going to go, go, go tomorrow! Here are a few of our favorite pictures from today.

Pumpkin Fun

We had a great weekend playing with pumpkins while getting ourselves into the fall spirit! On Saturday, CC went and bought all 3 grandkids their own little pumpkin to paint as well as 2 big ones for them to decorate and leave at her house. Abi painted a pink pumpkin with the help of CC while Daddy helped Aiden paint his blue and yellow...but after a few minutes they were finished and ready to move on to a bubble bath. Emily, on the other hand, was the first to start and the last to stop. She loved painting her pumpkin, using every color of paint CC had, and was upset when it was time for her to stop. When she realized she was joining Aiden and Abi in a bubble bath, her attitude quickly changed. Painting and baths...Emmy's two favorite activities! On Sunday, we woke up to rain, which I thought was going to spoil our plans to take the kids to the Halter Pumpkin Patch. However, as the afternoon rolled around it was only drizzling so we decided to brave the mud and head on out. I am so glad we went! Emily, Aiden and Abi had a great time off-roading in the wagon through the mud looking at pumpkins and even got out to play in a few "dry" areas. There was a petting zoo where Emily held a baby chick, with Daddy's help, and pony rides for the kids. Abi tried the pony ride first and decided she was not ready for that kind of adventure yet so we let Emily have a turn. I fully expected her to have the same reaction, but she fooled me!!! She rode that pony like a pro while Cappy and I took turns holding her on the saddle.
