Good Morning!

Last night Emily slept in her crib for the first time! She did not seem to mind at all. Mommy, of course, woke up at 2:15 and had to go check on her and she was sound asleep. Emmy slept in until 6:45 and woke up a happy girl. She is growing up so fast! Slow down, little girl!!!

Emily's Easter Parade

Emily had a very busy first Easter. We began our celebration on Saturday evening at Memaw's house where the Easter Bunny had come early! Emily had a HUGE Easter basket full of toys, clothes and a movie!

The Easter Bunny even showed up at our house Easter morning! This is one spoiled baby! Today we went to Great Memaw's house for a wonderful steak lunch then we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Lloyd's house to hang out for a bit.

Emily's First Road Trip

For the first 2 days of Spring Break, Aunt Kelli, Emily and I decided to take a road trip to visit friends and family. Our trip began on Saturday evening where we headed to Plano to meet Aunt Cheryl and cousin Matthew for dinner. We spent the night in a hotel and then spent most of Sunday with Aunt Cheryl at the Dallas Arboretum. The weather and the flowers were beautiful!

As we left Plano, we stopped to eat dinner with Mrs. Delane and Joe in Fort Worth. Our visit was short, but we were able to catch up over some very good Mexican food. After dinner, it was time to hit the road again towards Georgetown to visit Emily's Great Grandparents, Mimi and Poppi. We spent the night at their house and woke up for a day of chatting, playing with Emmy and taking a short trip to the mall.

Emily's first road trip was a lot of fun. For the most part, Emily was a good traveler and did not fuss much (until Monday when it was time to head home). It was good to be able to spend quality time with everyone. Thank you Aunt Kelli for doing all the driving and sacrificing a day of school to hang out with Emmy and me! :)

Shoe Shopping

Emily has long, narrow feet so finding shoes to fit her is a challenge. Today while Memaw and Mommy were out shopping at Freckle Town for an Easter outfit, we finally found a pair of shoes that fit! Emmy was so excited that she wanted to wear the shoes out of the store. When Daddy saw them the first thing he said is, "Of course they have big bows on them!" Emmy loves her bows! :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Emily celebrated St. Patrick's Day a day late because she wanted to make sure that her cute outfit was not missed by anyone! She really hates blending in. OK, so maybe she wore her green today because mommy had a 'brain fart' yesterday. We spent Sunday and Monday visiting family and friends in Plano and Austin (pictures to come) and I did not pack Emily's green outfit because I thought St. Patrick's Day was on Tuesday. Oh well! We were a day late and a dollar short, but she sure did look cute today in her Wicked onesie that Memaw and Aunt Kelli got her in NY.

2 Months Old

Emily is 2 months old now! At her 2 month check up she was 22.5 inches (50th percentile) and 8 lbs. 13 oz. (5th-10th percentile). Emily has always had problems with spitting up abnormal amounts and the doctor determined she has reflux. Since the reflux is causing a slower weight gain, Dr. Nix prescribed a medicine to help with the spitting up as well as instructed us to add rice cereal to her bottles during the day. So far, things seem to be improving. We have a follow up appointment next Thursday for a weight check to see if further reflux testing needs to be done.

This month, Emmy has started smiling and cooing up a storm and has even rolled over from her tummy to her back. Now that I am back at work, things around here are busy. I am counting the days until school is out for summer and cherish the weekends where I get to spend all day with her. While I am at work, Aunt Jennifer takes good care of our little angel. It helps knowing she is being loved and cared for when I can't be there.

Here are some pictures of Emily taken in the last few weeks. She is growing like a weed!
